Terugblik op een avond vol waardevolle ontmoetingen en inspirerende gesprekken
Tijdens het Becobra Network event van 23 juni 2026 brachten we de top van de Belgische verzekeringssector samen met vertegenwoordigers uit de overheid, het bedrijfsleven en andere belangrijke stakeholders.
In zijn openingsspeech ging onze voorzitter, Pedro Matthynssens, in op de ontwikkelingen die vandaag het verzekeringslandschap vormgeven, de uitdagingen voor de makelarij in het bijzonder en het blijvende belang van een sterke, professionele sector.
Een bijzonder hoogtepunt was de keynote van generaal-majoor Linotte, Head of Strategy van de Belgische Defensie. Hij bood een unieke inkijk achter de schermen van Defensie en gaf toelichting bij de organisatie, uitdagingen, strategische keuzes en prioriteiten van Defensie in een snel veranderende geopolitieke context.
All in all, the level of interest of investors shows that the insurance industry is the most beautiful industry in the world, and we should count our lucky stars to be in the midst of this action.
That is not the only reason why we should cherish our unique and beautiful industry. Unlike banking, insurance is more than a financial product. At its core, it is a promise. We help make entrepreneurs stronger and more resilient.
As a professional association, Becobra represents the major insurance brokers in Belgium and helps steer the development of the profession. Our mission is clear: defend the interests of brokers and, in doing so, strengthen the quality and professionalism of the sector. For me, Becobra’s strength lies not in defending what exists but in putting forward what is needed to stay relevant, and always one step ahead.
