Our identity
Becobra is the Belgian professional association of insurance and reinsurance brokers specialising in corporate risks and commercial insurance.
In a sector that is constantly evolving through technology, new regulation and an increasingly complex risk landscape, Becobra represents and strengthens the brokers who are actively shaping the future of commercial insurance brokerage and risk management.
Our members’ activities
Our members make risk manageable.
They support their clients in identifying, managing and insuring risks. Drawing on their expertise, they provide independent and tailored insurance and risk advice. When a loss occurs, they assist their clients in ensuring recovery and business continuity.
Beyond advisory services, our members develop, often in cooperation with insurers and international markets, innovative insurance solutions for new and complex risks.
By making risks manageable and insurable, they contribute to fostering entrepreneurship and economic continuity. In doing so, they strengthen the resilience of the economic fabric.
All our members are FSMA licensed and operate in accordance with the highest professional standards.
Our legacy
Becobra builds on more than 35 years of experience as a professional association. Our origins lie with BVVM-UPCA, established in 1991. In February 2025, we gave this story new impetus under the name Becobra. This reaffirms our ambition to grow into a dynamic and inspiring hub of knowledge, expertise and innovation; a place where members and stakeholders work together to shape the future of the sector.
Our impact
Today, Becobra brings together 25 members, representing around 3,000 employees in Belgium. In 2024, they collectively generated approximately €1.5 billion in revenues and placed around €11.64 billion in insurance premiums. These figures highlight our sector’s economic contribution.
