On 8 June, Becobra took part in the Vivium Digital Awards (VDA), an initiative aimed at stimulating innovation within the brokerage channel and showcasing digital solutions that have a tangible impact on the sector.
As a member of the professional jury, Becobra had the opportunity to assess various insurtech solutions and digital initiatives based on their relevance, level of innovation and added value for brokers. This year, the Insurtech Award was presented to Paperbox, while BrokerOne received the Innovation Award.

In addition to these awards, Vivium also granted a special recognition to a brokerage firm that distinguished itself through its digital maturity and digital service offering. The Digital Brokerage Firm 2026 recognition was awarded to GRUST (Sint-Gillis-Waas). This recognition was not part of the assessment carried out by the professional jury.
The awards illustrate how technology is increasingly being used to automate repetitive processes, reduce administrative burdens and create more room for advisory services. Digitalisation is not viewed as an objective in itself, but as a means of enhancing customer service, improving business efficiency and supporting the broker’s independence.
In addition to participating in the jury, Becobra took part in a workshop on cyber resilience and the evolving role of the insurance broker. It was emphasised that cyber is no longer solely a technological risk but is increasingly becoming a strategic and societal risk. Brokers have an important role to play in engaging clients in discussions about the potential impact of cyber incidents on their organisations and resilience.
A broader challenge facing our sector was also highlighted. As organisations become increasingly dependent on the same technologies, software platforms and suppliers, cyber risks are becoming increasingly correlated. The rise of artificial intelligence is accelerating this trend by enabling attacks to be carried out faster, at lower cost and on a larger scale. This not only increases the importance of prevention and resilience, but also raises fundamental questions about the future insurability of cyber risks. Greater awareness, higher levels of cyber maturity among businesses and the continued development of the market remain essential.
The Vivium Digital Awards therefore confirm two major developments within our sector. On the one hand, technology is becoming increasingly important in enabling organisations to work more efficiently and focus on higher value-added activities. On the other hand, the need for human advice, expertise and guidance in relation to complex risks continues to grow. This is precisely where the lasting value of the professional insurance broker lies.
